Testimonials

When I first sought out yoga, I had visited several studios and it wasn’t until I found Love Junkie that I found a love for the practice. I didn’t like being surrounded by mirrors, half-naked people doing tricks to show off (show-ga) and I really didn’t enjoy the formats that would teach one side of a sequence and then just have you repeat it over and over. Love Junkie teachers are given the freedom to teach from the heart, to offer modifications both for more accessible and more challenging poses, and there are no two classes the same. There are no mirrors in the yoga room and the floors are specially designed to enhance your practice and improve your sense of body awareness. At Love Junkie, every body is a good body and every body is welcome. I love the diversity and acceptance that every class and every teacher offers. After a few years of practicing at Love Junkie, I looked into taking YTT training at a retreat. I was always hesitant because of cost of travel and lodging, leaving my family, and the pressure to retain so much information crammed into 3 weeks that many YTT trainings offer. I was both excited and hesitant when Love Junkie announced they were going to offer YTT training. On one hand, Nicole Dorn is the instructor and she’s by far the best in the area. Her ability to teach modifications, body awareness, knowing and teaching the other parts of yoga besides the asana practice was really inviting. I was hesitant because I didn’t know if I wanted to teach, I don’t have the stereotypical “yoga body,” and I can’t do all of the poses. I decided to enroll and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I’ve grown so much in my practice and as a compassionate human being since taking this YTT course. I am a better person for my family, my friends, and my community. The 10-month schedule gives plenty of time to really learn and practice the material learned each weekend and I’m confident that I will not only remember most of it, but fluidly practice much of it as well. I can’t recommend Love Junkie and Nicole’s YTT training enough!

When I saw Love Junkie would be offering a Yoga Teacher Training, I knew I couldn't pass up the chance to apply. I had been researching local trainings but did not feel anything else was the right fit. Having been a part of the inclusive and supportive community that Nicole has created at Love Junkie, I felt this was my opportunity. The pacing of this course is such an advantage. Not only because it allows time for family and work commitments but also because it allows time to breathe, to take in the teachings, to absorb them, to practice, and to grow. Nicole's goal is to prepare us for success. She had us teaching small pieces to each other right away, guiding us to grow in confidence and find our own voices. We are learning how to hold space for ourselves and each other as well as for our future clients and accept our imperfections. Yoga is a practice after all. Love Junkie YTT goes above and beyond most 200-hour trainings. As well as basics such as the 8 limbs, Sanskrit and safe and up-to-date alignment, adjustments, and modifications, we are studying different styles of yoga such as Yin and Restorative, Prenatal and Chair yoga. I've learned and grown so much in my yoga practice through this program, that whether or not I choose to teach after certification, I feel this was the best investment I could've made for myself.

When a person thinks of a yoga teacher training course (YTT) what normally comes to mind? They probably think of a lot of yoga stuff crammed into a short amount of time, that is supposedly meant to help you become a yoga teacher. What separates Nicole's YTT course from the rest is that you not only learn about the body, shapes, and movements, but also you build long lasting friendships, and focus that says, "I can do this!" Nicole's classes have improved my overall focus in life. Now, I'm not saying that you will feel the same things as I did, but I am saying you will come out of her YTT competent to becoming a teacher, and feeling empowered to show those around you the beauty behind yoga. The best part about this is, it doesn't matter who you are as a person. Young, old, flexible, not flexible, toned, or not. Nicole will give you life long tools that can be used for so much more than just teaching yoga, so if you're looking into becoming a yoga instructor, look no farther than Love Junkie's YTT program.

The 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training at Love Junkie Yoga and Fitness is a phenomenal program!! Nicole, owner of the studio has been an amazing guide in my journey to becoming a yoga teacher. Her extensive experience, knowledge and background have ensured that we get a wealth of information, covering alignment, breath-work, adjustments, and modifications of poses, as well as the history and evolution of yoga, including the Eight Limbs, terminology, the various styles and schools of yoga and so much more!!
